In Neal Levin's afterschool cartoon drawing class at Hickory Grove Elementary in
Bloomfield Hills, Scott Wirthlin started with a circle and an oval and ended up with a
football fighting a basketball.
It was the 10yearold's first cartooning class.
"It was a lot of fun because I like to draw," said Scott, a fifthgrader.
His sister, Heidi, connected with Click, one of 1,000 characters Levin has created and
uses to teach how to draw cartoons. Click's a computer mouse.
"It was funny," said the 8yearold thirdgrader. "I liked the free time (in class). I drew
cartoons with pencils. I liked when we played 'Try to guess the cartoon.' "
